Despondency has no place in the hearts of those bound to Christ. We are to be as immovable in faith as our Lord was in His mission, for the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead dwells in us.

Let us then shake off the chains of despondency, for the remedy is as close as our faith, as accessible as our prayer, and as tangible as our work for the Kingdom. In faith, we grasp the assurance of God’s word; in prayer, we tap into the wellspring of divine strength; in work, we demonstrate the reality of our calling. Even in the bleakest moments, when all seems arrayed against us, we are to stand undaunted. For in Christ, there is no failure, only the unfolding of His perfect plan. We are secured not by our feeble grip on Him, but by His unbreakable hold on us, linked to the throne of grace by the golden chain of His love.
